Hello Stevensville Elementary Families!
We are so excited to welcome students back for the first day of school on Monday, August 25th! Summer has been refreshing, but the building just isn’t the same without our students here.
As you know, this year’s Open House will take place on September 3rd from 4–6 p.m. Since students will have supplies to bring on the first day, parents/guardians are welcome to walk their child to class and help drop off materials. School doors will open at 8:10 a.m. for families who wish to walk their child in. Our staff will be in the hallways to guide families, lend a hand, and make sure students are settled in. We kindly ask that once your child is ready, families head out so teachers can begin building connections with their new classes.
For our Kindergarten and ELP families—your first day of school is September 3rd, which follows a different schedule than grades 1–5. We still encourage Kinder and ELP parents who would like to walk their child in on that day to do so. Supplies can also be brought during your scheduled Meet the Teacher, which takes place before the school year begins. If you have not yet signed up for this, please do so as soon as possible!
If your child rides the bus, please pack as many supplies as possible in their backpack—we’ll make sure everything gets to the right place. Thank you for your support as we kick off a fun and successful school year. We can’t wait to see many of you on Monday!

Dear Families,
Are you tired of hearing from us yet? 😉
We’re excited to share the final 2025–2026 ELP–5 Student & Parent Handbook! One of the biggest changes this year is the district’s updated Cell Phone and Communication Device Policy (Board Policy 3630). This policy applies to all students across the district and includes cell phones, call watches, and other electronic communication devices.
✨ Key Highlights:
📱 Devices may only be used before and after school
🍎 For grades 9–12, devices may also be used during lunch
📴 During the school day, all devices must remain off and put away
🚫 Devices may never be used in locker rooms, bathrooms, or other private spaces
👨👩👧 Unauthorized use will result in confiscation, with devices returned only to a parent/guardian
🔁 Repeated violations will lead to disciplinary action
💡 Important Notes:
Students who need accommodations will always be able to use the appropriate devices.
A student with a medical need will never be denied the use of such devices.
We need your partnership in making this successful. Please help your child by ensuring their device stays at home, in their backpack, or otherwise put away during the school day. Together, we can keep our focus on learning and support a safe, respectful school environment.
Thank you for your cooperation and continued support.
Warmly,
Ms. Bauer & Mr. Hamilton

Dear Families,
We want to make you aware of an important playground safety update.
For the safety of all students, the playground will be closed immediately after school dismissal. This means:
🚫 No students may play on the playground until 3:45 p.m.
👨👩👧 After 3:45, students may use the playground only if a parent/guardian is present and supervising.
👩🏫 There may be limited exceptions for staff under certain circumstances, but otherwise this rule applies to all students.
Because there is no staff supervision after school, we cannot allow students to remain and play. We appreciate your support in helping us keep all students safe and accounted for at dismissal.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!
Truly,
Ms. Bauer & Mr. Hamilton

📣 How to See Your Child’s Teacher for the 2025–2026 School Year
We’re excited to share that teacher placements are now available in Infinite Campus—but you must complete Online Registration first in order to view them!

🦋✨ Today was a magical day in ELP! We released our butterflies and wrapped up our butterfly life cycle unit. Watching them take flight was the perfect celebration of everything we’ve learned—from tiny eggs to beautiful wings! 🐛➡️🦋
Our young scientists were filled with wonder and joy as they said goodbye to their fluttery friends. What a special way to bring learning to life! 💛🌿

🌟 5E Student Council in Action! 🌟
Each quarter, our 5th graders dive into a hands-on experience with government, leadership, and advocacy by running for student council! From writing campaign speeches to representing their peers’ voices, these students learn how real change starts with thoughtful ideas and hard work.
This quarter, Sara and Gracie stood out with their heartfelt proposal to build connections with our kindergarten students. Before they even wrote their campaign speech, they went straight to Mrs. Conway to ask if this idea could become a reality. Once they got her encouraging response, they ran with it—literally!
After winning the election, they worked on their first project: Gecko Time, which started with an Earth Day coloring activity they designed and led. They even emailed Mrs. Conway a thank-you note and started planning Phase 2. They visited kindergarten again to get feedback straight from the kids—and after a quick survey, musical chairs won the vote!
What you see in these photos is pure student-led magic: creativity, leadership, and joyful connection between our oldest and youngest learners. Watching Sara and Gracie beam with pride as their ideas came to life has been unforgettable.
This is what it looks like when student voice is empowered and supported. 💡👏

The Elementary had to say “ta ta for now” to our beloved ELP/3 Secretary, Nicole!
She will be deeply missed by so many—her kindness, dedication, and bright presence have made such a lasting impact over her four years with us.
The good news? She's not going far! Nicole will still be on campus, now serving the entire district as the new HR Secretary at the District Office. We’re so lucky we’ll still get to see her wonderful face around!
These are some big shoes to fill. Congratulations, Nicole, on your next adventure—we’re so proud of you!

Some of our teachers tried something new for Spring Parent-Teacher Conferences—Student-Led Conferences—and it was a huge success!
Students proudly took ownership of their hard work and showed off to their families (as they should!).
Parents loved hearing directly from their child about what they’ve been learning and working on this year. It was also such a joy to see families engaging together in the classroom, exploring the learning environment through their child’s eyes.
Way to go, students, teachers, and families!

Huge shoutout to Mr. Prince for helping our 4th graders shine on stage and shape their performance skills! The show was wonderfully done, and we all learned so much about how the Tooth Fairy (and her global counterparts) are celebrated around the world. Bravo to everyone involved!
