This last Saturday, our middle school students traveled to Helena to present and compete in the National History Day competition — and they represented our school with excellence, confidence, and incredible scholarship!
Students showcased months of research through exhibits and presentations, demonstrating critical thinking, creativity, and a deep understanding of their historical topics. We are incredibly proud to share that five middle school projects placed in the top two of their categories, earning automatic advancement to the state competition! 🎉👏
Our top two finishers that will be automatically competing in the state competition are as follows:
Evelynn Driskell - Solo Documentary
Colton Flowers - Solo Website
Tia Brunell, Addisyn Olney, and Lilah Pfister - Group Website
Kaylee Monroe and Ammitiel Slavin - Group Exhibit
Emily Roebke, Diem Lewis, Sierra Moore, and Kadance Depee - Group Performance
This is an outstanding accomplishment and a testament to our students’ hard work, dedication, and passion for learning.
A special thank you to Mr. Buerkle for his amazing guidance and leadership showing our students what success looks like at Stevensville Middle School!
Congratulations to all of our participants, and best of luck to our state qualifiers as they prepare for the next level of competition. We are so proud of you! 💙📚

Our 6th grade students have been diving into some powerful learning with the guidance of their PE/health teacher, Mr. Curley! 💡💪
As part of their unit on the effects of drugs on the brain and body, students explored how substances can impact decision-making, mood, relationships, and long-term health. But they didn’t stop there…
They took it a step further by brainstorming 100 positive, healthy alternatives to drugs — and they did it in the most creative way possible! 🎨✨
Students designed characters to represent healthy choices and positive activities. From Winnie the Pooh to Sid the Sloth— their characters showed that there are countless ways to have fun, manage stress, and build confidence without turning to harmful substances.
We are so proud of our students for engaging in meaningful conversations and showing that healthy choices open the door to endless possibilities! 💙👏

Our middle school artists in Ms. Hayworth's Art 7 class are exploring beadwork as an art form ✨🎨
In art class, students designed and created their own beaded bracelets, learning how patterns, color choices, symmetry, and repetition can tell a story and reflect personal style. Each piece is a unique expression of creativity, patience, and craftsmanship—highlighting how art can be both functional and meaningful.
We’re proud of the focus, creativity, and individuality shown in these student-made works! 💙🖤

📰✨ The newest edition of our student newspaper is here—and it’s the first one of the new year! Our student journalists kicked off the year strong with fresh stories, student perspectives, and school highlights. Be sure to check it out and celebrate the great work of our writers, editors, and staff behind the scenes!

Mr. Motley’s Woods classes have been hard at work combining craftsmanship and creativity! 🪵✨
Students designed and built their own stools, then added unique images on top to make each piece truly one of a kind. We love seeing hands-on learning, problem-solving, and artistic expression come together in the shop!
