Program Information: Stevensville's Early Literacy Program aims to provide early literacy interventions for children turning 4 before September 10 and prior to entering Kindergarten. Applicants will be accepted based on demonstrated need in oral language skills, phonemic awareness, or alphabetic knowledge as determined by our Preschool Early Literacy Indicators (PELI) assessment. Additionally, applicants must be fully potty trained. Our early literacy program offers a play based learning environment where children will develop foundational literacy skills through vertically aligned curriculum preparing them to succeed in Kindergarten.
Application: Please complete and submit your application via the Google form or paper copy obtained from the school office. You will be contacted to schedule an assessment time for your child. Please bring the following to your assessment date: child's birth certificate, vaccination records, proof of residency (copy of utility bill, mortgage or rental agreement or statement). Please note, this application is separate from online enrollment. Upon acceptance your online enrollment will also need to be completed for your child.
Program Details: Our ELP school day is 8:30-2:15. Students are able to purchase breakfast and lunch, and participate in specials such as music, PE, and library. ELP follows the Elementary School calendar with the exception of a slightly shorter school year and school days. Transportation is not provided.
