What's one piece of advice you would give to students?

"So many thoughts--but most importantly (I believe), take risks and don't be afraid of not knowing something. Don't get too comfortable, because discomfort is where learning happens!"

What's your favorite childhood school experience as a kid?

" When I was in 5th grade, I forgot to get my permission slip signed and was so bummed I couldn’t go on the field trip. I went to my former first-grade teacher, and she just straight-up forged my mom’s signature. The best part? She’s the same woman who made me repeat first grade — my guess is she didn’t want to teach me how important reading the instructions are for a third time."
